How it works

Making KitUp Work For You

1. Create Your Profile!

Whether you are an avid adventurer with all of the kit, someone looking to rent (saving yourself a fortune) or a business wanting to bring your inventory into KitUp, start with creating your profile. All we need is your name and email address and you're good to go.

Top-tip - Businesses and Kit Owners, make sure to add your payment details or other users will not be able to pay you!

2. Create Your Listing!

Follow the drop down boxes and you can't go wrong. Just think, if you were going to rent this item, what would you want to know about it and what photographs would you want to see. Spend time on the photos. We look at every listing and can tell you, the better the photos, the more rentals you will get!

For Brand and Size, please give as much information as you can to make sure that other users have a good idea about what to expect. It can be really helpful to add a link to the product website (especially for those that love to read the tech specs!).

3. Contacting Other Users!

If you have found the perfect item for your adventure, you can either reserve it immediately or you can contact the Owner to ask any questions. This will take you into the KitUp messaging service and will instantly send the other person an email to let them know they have been contacted. If you get no response, KitUp will send you alternative items where possible. If you are really having trouble, please contact us and we will do everything we can to help you.

4. The Rental Inspection Form - Download Here

Like picking up a rental car at the airport, this is important for both parties when it comes to potential damages etc. This is also a great opportunity for a safety inspection as you will be agreeing to the liability when you are using it. Always take pictures, just in case!

Make sure to ask other users to bring ID with them so that you can check it matches the person that rented. If it does not, you are under no obligation to handover your kit (we recommend you do not).

5. Enjoy The Adventure!

This is the best bit. You have either picked up the kit you need and are off to enjoy yourself, or you have made your kit work for you and you have been paid. Either way, that sounds like a great start to the day!
